18-year-old Chuckie Finster was taking books out of his locker when he heard the announcement over the intercom; It was for the upcoming school prom. He already decided who he was going to ask; 18-year-old Shenzi Tuck, the prettiest, smartest girl in the whole school. He was very nervous about asking her to the prom; She was out of his league by miles, and he believed she wouldn't go for a boy like him. He was a gork! Y'know, those sad few beyond geek. When he saw her by her locker across the hall, he took a deep breath, and decided to go in. He slowly walked to the Goth girl until he was a reasonable distance away, for her possible boundaries. “Um, h-hey Shenzi?”

She turned around, and smiled at him, sending butterflies in his chest. “Hi, Chuckie! What's up?”

“Well uh, I... I was just wondering...” He stammered, “Um... wi-will you... go to the... prom with me?”

She looked surprised, before providing her answer. “I'd love to.” She kissed his cheek, making his eyes widen. She giggled at that, as a blush grew on and around his freckles.

“Uh...” He stammered, trying to regain his composure, “Um... wha-what color corsage do you want?”

“Purple,” She shrugged, “To match your glasses.” She playfully prodded at his purple rectangular eyeglasses.

“O-okay,” He nodded, “I'll get a purple corsage for you.”

“And I'll get one for you.”

“See you then.”

“You too.”

On prom night, Chuckie changed into a black pinstripe dress shirt, a black tuxedo jacket with matching pants, black and white dress shoes, and a purple bow tie. Holding a corsage for his date in one hand, he waited outside his house for the limo with his sister, 17-year-old Kimi Finster, She was going to the prom as well, with his best friend of over a decade, 17-year-old Tommy Pickles. “How do I look, Kimi?” He asked her for confirmation.

“Spiffy,” She gave him a thumbs-up, “You look great. Shenzi will be all over you.”

“I hope so,” He whispered to himself.

Soon the limo came, and it stopped at the Tuck house after the Finster teens boarded. After around a minute, Shenzi and her older sister, Frankie Tuck, entered the vehicle. “Hey, Chuckie!” She greeted her date as she sat next to him. “You look great!” She gave him a small, purple rose corsage pin. “Here's this.” She pinned it on his left lapel.

“Thanks, Shen. Um, that's a... unique outfit.”

“Thanks.” She was in a black spandex cropped tank top, a black high-waisted high-low prom skirt, a purple lace sheer top with a thin, red neckline, black and white high heels that coincidentally matched his shoes, a purple hair extension in her long bangs, complimenting her black hair, and black crystal bow earrings.

“Oh! Uh, here's this,” Chuckie put the corsage he brought on her left wrist.

“Thanks, Chuck.” She giggled upon seeing what was on it, instead of a flower. “Purple lollipops? That's adorable! Where'd you get this?”

“Online,” He shrugged, “It came very quickly. When I saw it, I thought of you.”

“Aww,” She blushed, “Well, thanks Chuckie. I love it.” She laid her head on his shoulder, surprising him. “This is going to be a great night. I know it.”

Chuckie shyly held her hand in his, and was relieved when she reciprocated the gesture instead of rejected it. Did she like him back? No way. She was probably just being nice, or was in the moment. She couldn't possibly like him back... right? After around a minute, the limo stopped in the school parking lot, and the students disembarked. Even with her high heels, Shenzi was still shorter than Chuckie; He thought that was pretty cute.

Hand-in-hand, they followed their friends to the study hall area outdoors, where the prom was going on. Nicely-dressed couples practically surrounded them, although Shenzi stood out in the crowd with her tops and skirt, and unique corsage. She started dancing with Chuckie during a fast song, and slow-danced with him during “Meant for Me” by Chrissy Chase. She laid her head on his right shoulder, and he held her closer as the couples danced around them.

Before long, the moment everyone was waiting for came. “Okay, everyone! It's time to announce our prom king and queen! Thank you for voting!” The teacher counted up the votes, and made the conclusion. “Alright, our king and queen are... Chuckie Finster, and Shenzi Tuck!” The stunned couple walked up to the podium, where Shenzi received a white shoulder sash with “Prom Queen” in gold letters and a silver tiara, while Chuckie got a red, white, and gold crown that read “Prom King” on the brim in gold cursive writing.

“Can you believe it, Chuckie?” Shenzi asked her date on the way to her house. “We won prom king and queen!”

“No, I can't,” He shook his head at her question, “And yes we did. I had fun tonight.”

“Me too,” She nodded in agreement, “You're a lot of fun to be around.” She kissed his cheek, making a blush grow. But before she could say anything else, the limo stopped in front of hers and Frankie's house. “Oh, here's my stop.” She and Frankie got ready to head inside. “Bye, Chuckie. I'll see you around school.” After giving him a peck on the lips, greatly surprising him, she walked to the house.
