The Little MerMeerkat Ch. 6

-

The next morning, Timon and Shenzi left for their tour in a horse-drawn buggy, as Pumbaa and Vitawny bid them farewell. As they rode along, with Shenzi driving, Timon pointed at anything, or everything he saw, that amazed him, and Shenzi looked where he pointed with enthusiasm. He was in a handsome, blue casual outfit with brown buckle shoes, while she was in a black and blue lace-up dress with the skirt stopping a few inches above her ankles, so her black ballet flats were showing. She also had a blue bow on one of her ears.

She glanced at the prince, but looked back at him when she saw that he was laying upside down over the edge, admiring the horse’s hooves as they walked along.

When they rode on a bridge, Flora swam along in the water, occasionally jumping to try to get a better look at the couple. “Has she kissed him yet?” She asked Seafara quietly when she saw her on the carriage.

“Not yet,” She responded just as quietly.
“Ohh . . .” The fish groaned impatiently.

Once the buggy stopped, Shenzi helped Timon step out; The prince stared in amazement as a man pushing a cart with crates of clucking chickens passed them by, before Timon saw a puppet show going on. He went to get a closer look, but ended up grabbing the puppet off the performer’s hand. Timon led, or dragged Shenzi over to a pavilion, where they danced together; He felt a bit awkward, having no experience in dancing, but luckily they looked flawless.

When they rode on another bridge in the buggy, Binti flew on a low ledge on the arch when she saw Flora in the water. “Hey, Flora! Any kissing?”

“No, not yet,” She frowned sadly.

“Hmm,” Binti raised an eyebrow impatiently, “Well they, they better get crackin'!” After they left the town with some souvenirs, Shenzi offered Timon the horse’s reins, which he happily accepted. But he snapped them hard, so the horse broke into a sprint. After shielding her face from tree branches, Shenzi looked up, and to her horror, they were heading for the edge of a cliff! Luckily though, the horse jumped over the edge, and landed on the other side, knocking the princess down out of sight. She cautiously sat up as the horse calmed down, so it was a more relaxing ride. That evening, they were in a canoe in a still lagoon, with Shenzi rowing.

“Move over, move your big feathers,” Flora told Binti, “I can't see a thing.”

“Nothing is happening...” Binti remarked, “Only one day left, and that girl ain't puckered up once! O.K. All right, this calls for a little vocal romantic stimulation.” She flew over to a tree branch where some bluebirds were sitting. “Stand back.” She flew down on the branch, scaring them away, and started singing very badly.

“Wow!” Shenzi cringed,“ Somebody should find that poor animal and put it out of its misery.” Timon cringed as Binti gave him a ‘good luck’ sign while still squawking, and he did an embarrassed facepalm.

“Gee whiz, I'm surrounded by amateurs!” Seafara griped while covering her ears, before she dove down in the water. “You want something done, you've got to do it yourself.” She grabbed a blade of grass to conduct with, then resurfaced as some ducks and turtles swam up to her. “First, we got to create the mood.” She told them. “Percussion,” The ducks started hitting the turtles’ undersides like drums. “Strings,” Some crickets started playing their legs like a violin. “Winds,” On cue, a breeze blew by. “Words.” She referred to herself, before she started singing.

There you see him
Sitting there across the way
He don't got a lot to say
But there's something about him.
" Just then, Timon saw the crab on a blade of grass.
And you don't know why
But you're dying to try
You wanna kiss the boy.
” She whispered in Shenzi’s ear, before swiftly pulling away.

Did you hear something?” The princess furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, and Timon merely shrugged.
Yes, you want him
Look at him, you know you do
Possible he wants you too…
” Timon looked down at Shenzi, playing with his sleeve hem awkwardly, before they smiled at each other.
There is one way to ask him,” Seafara sang with a flamingo.
It don't take a word
Not a single word
Go on and kiss the boy.
” Timon puckered his lips for a kiss, but Shenzi leaned back timidly. “Sing with me now,” Seafara swam down, and gestured to some frogs, who hopped on the oars.
Sha lalalalala
My oh my
Look like the girl’s too shy
Ain't gonna kiss the boy.
” Shenzi rowed silently, as Timon rested his chin and cheek in his palm.
Sha lalalalala
Ain't that sad?
Ain't it a shame?
Too bad, she gonna miss the boy.
” Seafara continued sadly.

“You know, I feel really bad not knowing your name,” Shenzi remarked apologetically, “Heh, maybe I could guess.” She thought for a second, as he leaned towards her in anticipation. “Is it, uh, Quinton?” Timon stuck his tongue out. “Okay, no,” She giggled, before thinking again. “How 'bout… Kevin?” He shook his head. “Nathan?”

“Timon; His name is Timon,” Seafara whispered in her ear.

“Timon?” Shenzi repeated, and he nodded happily. “Timon?” He nodded again, smiling down at her. “Well, that's kinda handsome.” She smiled back up at him, as she took his hands in hers. “Okay, Timon. . .”

Now's your moment
Floating in a blue lagoon.
” The small boat floated through the draping branches of a willow tree, as they smiled at each other.
Girl you better do it soon
No time will be better.
” Seafara surfaced by the boat, eliminating their silhouettes in the river.

Ya, ya, ya, ya!” Some clams chimed in.

He don't say a word…” She dove and swam back down in the water for some assistance.
And he won't say a word
Until you kiss the boy!
” Multitudes of colorful fish swam up, as they started singing with the crab.
Sha lalalalala
Don't be scared
You got the mood prepared
Go on and kiss the boy.
” Some fireflies started floating around the boat, shining their lights.

Sha lalalalala
Don't stop now
Don't try to hide it how
You want to kiss the boy.

Sha lalalalala
Float along
And listen to the song…
” Some flamingos sang, before Binti started squawking again, but they silenced her.
The song say kiss the boy.

Sha lalalala
The music play
Do what the music say
You got to kiss the boy.
” Shenzi smiled admiringly up at Timon, whose smile was more suave.

You've got to kiss the boy
You wanna kiss the boy…
” The animals made kissing gestures for encouragement, as the couple gazed at each other.

You've gotta kiss the boy…” They started shutting their faces, as they were slowly leaning in.

Go on and…!” Seafara shook Binti by her neck excitedly.

Kiss the boy!” The chorus finished, as they inched closer and closer; Just before their lips made contact, the boat suddenly tipped over!

“Whoa, hang on; I've gotcha!” Shenzi exclaimed, as she helped Timon stand up in the water. Secretly, Zira and Vitawny clapped their tails together in congratulations, while snickering evilly.

“Nice work, girls,” Scar smiled, as he watched the scene from his cavern in his crystal ball. “That was a close one. Too close; The little cad!” He pushed his hair back in frustration. “Oh, he's better than I thought,” He remarked. “At this rate, she'll be kissing him by sunset for sure!” He knocked some potions over, and slammed one into his cauldron. “Well, it's time Scar took matters into his own tentacles!” He kept slamming potions in the cauldron in rage. “Nina's son will be mine; And then I'll make her writhe,” He vowed, “I'll see her wriggle like a worm on a hook!” He laughed evilly and maniacally, as his transformation took place.

That night at the castle, Shenzi was playing her flute, while contemplating, before Vitawny approached her. “Shenzi, if I may say, far better than any dream boy, is one of flesh and blood, one warm and caring, and right before your eyes.” She looked up and smiled when she saw Timon combing his hair with a fork; She sighed, before she threw her flute in the ocean.

She was about to walk in the castle, before she heard masculine-like singing; Curious, she looked down, and saw a handsome, young-looking male meerkat singing with a certain voice, while walking along the beach, as his hair flew in the breeze. She watched the meerkat, as his voice placed her under a spell.
Yeah, this one's kinda short, I know. ^^;
